]]>Don't forget to see our latest update on Melvin's pressurization ! Here:
]]>We've put our orders on hold for the time being. Just a bit swamped with production. We're over our 90 delivery window and prefer not to rush it. We are moving to an inventory based order system which will reduce production time, but it still a ways off. Shouldn't last too long - appreciate your patience. Contact us if you have questions. We'll update the system as soon as we get a few of these engines shipped. 12-5-23

]]>Were getting a bit backed up and want to get a few orders out the door prior to accepting any new orders. At this point we're at the 90 day mark from order to shipping and we'd like to improve that.
Give us about a month, by then we should have most of our present orders on track and be ready for new ones. You can still place an order deposit to hold your place in our production queue - see item "Melvin Engine Package - Order Deposit".
Appreciate your patience.
Stay well,
Tim Sefton

]]>We're holding off on new orders for the time being to get caught up with production. You can still put in a pre-order, but keep in mind we're at about 90 days out at this point. As soon as we build out some of these existing orders we'll open it back up to a normal order - delivery interval. We do have the plans now available for those of you who are feeling motivated. Love to see more engine building !

Price returned to normal levels --- Engine Open Source Plans Available --- R&D Coming up ---
Video Update Here: https://youtu.be/IrXltsm-Ujs
Finally an engine update for you. We have some exciting stuff and it is way past due.
Engine Update : https://youtu.be/IrXltsm-Ujs
First - we are bringing our pricing back down to about where is was, $1,850 for base engine and $2,475 for the Melvin package (engine, water jacket, and firebox). We're still at least 60 days from order for delivery, in the best of cases.
Second - Power is up - broke 150 rpms = +400 Watts gross power (unpressurized).
Third - We're opening up the engine specs for open source access (see details in the catalog).
Check our our full update here:
Enjoy,
Tim
]]>Most of the time we're talking about the engine, how to make it more powerful, more efficient, but the other side of that is how does the power come out of the engine. In this video we show you the simple rotary generator that's connected to the axle of the Melvin to produce electricity.
The generator is in the kinematics housing so that the connection between the generator and the motor can all be pressurized - more on that later.
Enjoy,
Tim

Wall Street Journal this morning (2-3-2015) had an interesting article on the latest threat to the US Power grid - Energy-Conserving Americans.
Since 2004 residential electricity prices have jumped 39%. Yet, retail sales to homes and businesses are still less than they were in 2007.
Customers are embracing "energy saving gizmos" and solar panels pushing down the demand for grid power.
"NRG Energy is tinkering with prototype of stove-sized machines that make electricity from natural gas" ie Stirling engines. "Something the company says is likely to appeal to the roughly 50% of US homes served by gas"
